September 20, 2025
4:30–5 PM
Children and families are invited to experience inflating the balloon live on DAS MINSK’s terrace and to watch as it expands to its full height. Afterwards, there will be an introduction for children to Katharina Gaenssler’s work UP!. The program will also encompass the work’s historical background: the spectacular escape story in which families crossed the GDR border in a homemade hot-air balloon. We will playfully explore questions such as: What is a hot-air balloon? How does it work? And why has it become such a powerful symbol?
Admission is free.
From 5 / 5:30 pm: ChorWerk Potsdam performance and collective “Human Rights Singalong” with the audience
