ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Jennifer Touch
Jennifer Touch is a multidisciplinary Artist, Live Musician, Producer and DJ - deeply involved in a Post-Wave-Cold-Pop-Acid-Romance.
Since releasing her first record in 2014, she successfully combines dark 80’s vintage synths with industrial soundscapes, delivered with a visceral post-punk snarl, home on the dance floor and off. You’ll rarely find an artist today so devoted to sound or as deeply immersed in the affective reverberation of old synths. She calls it Post-Wave-Cold-Pop-Acid-Romance, rubbing sonic shoulders with PJ Harvey, DAF and Depeche Mode.
As a child, she was led to believe all the melodies in the world had already been used, rendering being a musician pointless. Ignoring the bollocks, her strong sense of independence and the desire for self-expression through music prevailed, and after the Berlin wall came down, her early musical tastes expanded beyond 80’s pop, embracing the bleak and rough techno of Berlin’s underground. Jennifer Touch invites you to a sonic world that sounds familiar but feels different. To scratch the surface, focused on details that take up time and space is her inner need as an artist.
Alongside several EP’s and Singles on Riotvan, Eskimo, WarrioRecords, UVP and Live at Robert Johnson, she released 2 studio albums on FatCat Records, collaborated with Curses and Paranoid London, and was featured in Metal Mag, MOJO, Uncut, Future Music and DJ Mag. In the last years Jennifer Touch has been touring the UK, Europe, Mexico and Columbia.
Wolfgang Flür
1947 in Frankfurt born Wolfgang Flür is best known as the electro drummer of the German electronic band Kraftwerk between 1973 and 1986. Flür developed with his musical partner Florian Schneider the world first electric drum-pads-board for the Electric Quartet. Since 1993 Flür is the founder of Yamo. The album “Time Pie“ (EMI Electrola) was released in 1996 in co-production with Andi Toma of Mouse on Mars. Flür’s next release, a 12“ with remixes of “I Was A Robot“ (Holon), climed number 6 of German Club Charts. “I Was A Robot“ is Flür’s sung autobiography and was especially produced as giveaway of the German book in a parallel edition. The English edition was first published in 2000 called “I Was a Robot“ (Sanctuary), describing his view on the inner workings of Kraftwerk. The book was subsequently released in six different territories / translations and was in the Top Ten of best selling music books in 2004 (The Independent) and 2010 in the ten best music histoires (The Observer).
Flür also released a weird short story book on the Germans of the Rhineland Area in 2011 entitled “NEBEN MIR“ (next to me). Wolfgang undertakes book readings in Germany and very selected in England. Since 2004 Flür has been DJ’ing world wide in clubs and on festivals, playing tech house, industry and electro specialities of his own, of Kraftwerk and of international artists who he’s friendly with. Flür has co-operated with Bon Harris’ (Nitzer Ebb) Shadow Bureau project and lent his lyrics and voice for the track “Axis of Envy“. Flür also co-operated with Anni Hogan (former Marc Almond pianist) for the track “Golden Light“ (lyrics and vocals) as well as on “Fashion Machine“ (lyrics and voice) with Ramón Amezcua of Bostich / Mexico. Wolfgang Flür’s current stage performances show videos and rare images from his Kraftwerk past shot to his present projects added with selected electro tunes for dancing. MUSIK SOLDAT (music soldier) is the title of Flür’s program. Wolfgang sees himself as a music presenter with historical electric background. Wolfgang released two further albums - ELOQUENCE (2015) and MAGAZINE 1 (2022).
This album became No.1 of TOP 40 UK Electronic Albums of iTunes downloads March 22, 2022. The Allegorist
Hailing from the depths of the underground music scene, The Allegorist is a visionary, enigmatic, transmedia, and boundary-pushing artist known for crafting deep, immersive, and dark, intricate sonic tales. Embracing a wide array of influences, weaving together the mysteries, art, philosophy, symbolism, and spirituality, The Allegorist defies categorisation. Inspired by her childhood dream of becoming an archaeologist, she embarks on a perpetual quest to discover the secrets and meanings of the world. Her innate lifelong passion for critical thinking, creation, and discovery laid the foundation for her unique approach, resonating with those who seek the unconventional.
Centered around dark art and speculative fiction, including sci-fi and fantasy, The Allegorist sculpts experimental, cinematic, electronic music, visual art, and metaphorical narratives. Embracing the dualism of light and darkness, past and future, life and death, the art project adopted a holistic mindset, seeking to sail into the unknown, preserve the secret wisdom and timeless teachings, while honouring the ancient values of Earth, human responsibility, and the cycle of life. For an inclusive expression, she crafted her fictional language Mondoneoh, employing symbolism as a method of universal communication, in line with her chosen name The Allegorist, which derives from the word allegory in literature.
With a background as a painter spanning over a decade before venturing into the realm of music, the Hungarian-born, Berlin-based artist Anna Jordan is her own creative director, producer, sound designer, singer, engineer, visual artist, and live performer for her art project The Allegorist. Appreciating the significance of artistic autonomy, she works independently, self-releasing her output primarily via her own imprint Awaken Chronicles. Simultaneously she fosters a diverse collective spirit with like-minded people from all backgrounds and sectors.
Dark, driving, and relentlessly danceable: TWIN NOIR transform analog rawness into urban ecstasy. Between club haze, tape machines, and pulsating basslines, the Berlin-based project creates a sound that doesn’t quote post-punk, wave, or EBM, but reshapes them.
Founded in Berlin in 2021, TWIN NOIR perform as a duo, but at their core operate as a passionately driven trio. Cody Barcelona (vocals, electronics, guitar) and Ian Volt (vocals, bass) form the creative heart of the band and stand at the center of their intense, high-energy live performances. The project is completed by Lina Avair, who oversees the operational side while also contributing creative impulses.
The sound of TWIN NOIR oscillates between electronically monotonous sequences, wide sonic spaces, and melodic moments. Minimalist lyrics in German meet technoid beats, driving basslines, and dense soundscapes carried alternately by synthesizers and guitars. An analog tape machine, samplers, guitars, and a theremin shape their distinctive sound. Influences range from Kraftwerk and DAF through EBM and techno to punk and alternative movements of the 1970s to 1990s.
Live, TWIN NOIR unleash their full intensity: energetic performances, physical pressure, and an aesthetic inspired by Berlin club culture, punk, and vaudeville. Their shows are conceived as a manifesto for freedom, creativity, and artistic self-determination, raw, direct, and without a safety net.
Mark Reeder is a Berlin-based music producer from Manchester, who moved to West-Berlin in the late 1970s. He became active in the Berlin underground music scene, serving first as Joy Division’s then Factory Records Man in Berlin. In the 1980s, he became the Manager and live-sound engineer for mädchenorchestra Malaria! and formed his own bands; Die Unbekannten and Shark Vegas.
Throughout the cold-war decade, he organised TV programmes about the city’s music scene and smuggled music into the East, culminating in two top-secret gigs for popular West-German punk band Die Toten Hosen in a Church, which subtly contributed to the cultural shifts that would eventually help initiate the fall of the Berlin Wall. He was classified as Subversiv-Dekadent by the East German State Security (Stasi).
In late 1989, Reeder was invited to produce what would become the last album of Communist East Germany (Torture by Die Vision) for the State-owned record label AMIGA, and therefore he became the first, last and consequently the only Westerner to ever have this opportunity.
In December of 1990, he started the first independent Techno-Trance record label in post-wall East Berlin; MFS (Masterminded For Success) launching the careers of Cosmic Baby, Ellen Allien, Mijk van Dijk or Paul van Dyk.
As a producer and composer of film music, he has scored movies such as Can Creativity Save the World? or Nekromantik2. As a remixer, he has worked with artists like New Order, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, John Foxx, Yello, or Die Toten Hosen, and has meanwhile become a respected figure in Berlin’s current underground music scene through the documentary film; B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin, which depicts his life in the city during the cold-war.
