Biography
Curator and Author Paola Malavassi (*1978, San José, Costa Rica) is the founding director of DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam. She works in an interdisciplinary manner, frequently involving the areas of music and dance. Paola Malavassi’s interdisciplinary approach became evident in her recent curatorial work such as »Stan Douglas: Splicing Block« (2019) and »APEX VARIATIONS« (2018) by the artist Arthur Jafa and the jazz pianist Jason Moran. Her curatorial interests strongly connect to outreach and education.
Malavassi formerly served as head of the Julia Stoschek Collection Berlin from 2016 to 2020, and curatorial assistant to the director at Museum Ludwig Cologne from 2005 to 2011. She has held teaching positions at Freie Universität Berlin and Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
