Some stories can’t just be told – they have to be experienced.

Where art is exhibited today, people once dined, celebrated, and debated: What is now DAS MINSK first opened in 1977 as an elegant restaurant in the GDR. High above Potsdam, Restaurant "Minsk" was one of the city’s notable addresses—a place for special occasions, for conversation, and for enjoyment. It remained a popular culinary meeting place until 2000.

On this evening, we return to this place—not only with recipes, but with memories, flavors, and stories. Along with guests from gastronomy, art, and contemporary history, we will explore how East German culinary culture has evolved between past and present.
Instead of the customary German-German debate about figures and narratives, we invite you to experience history through the senses: through flavors, aromas, images, and personal memories.
