Following the talk between Katharina Gaenssler and Anna Schneider, DJ Eric D. Clark will take over the musical program beginning at 6:30 pm. His DJ set will provide a vibrant conclusion to the opening evening of the installation UP!. We look forward to great music, inspiring conversations, and lively exchange.
Eric D. Clark is a pianist, DJ, producer, and cultural figure whose career spans over four decades. Starting as a gospel and classical piano prodigy in California, he became a key figure in San Francisco’s club scene before moving on to Paris and later Germany, where he co-founded the influential group Whirlpool Productions with hits like From Disco to Disco. Beyond music, he has collaborated with artists such as Chaka Khan, TLC, Tiefschwarz, and Chicks on Speed, and contributed to projects in film, theatre, and fashion campaigns for Chanel, Fila, and Hugo Boss. Clark has also taught at the Städel School in Frankfurt, curated art shows in Berlin and Oslo, and written for cultural magazines. He has played at iconic venues like Berghain/Panoramabar, Tresor, and MOMA New York, as well as major festivals including MELT and Montreux Jazz Festival. In recent years, he continues to expand his artistic practice with residencies, collaborations, and explorations of new formats such as his metaverse gallery and roller disco projects.
