Guided Tours and Workshops for School Classes
Grade level 7-8, can be adapted according to age group (grades 5-13)
On request
Specially developed for school classes, the workshops invite students not only to view works of art, but also to develop new approaches to art and culture through creative activities and joint reflection. The acts of perceiving, creating, and reflecting form the foundation of all the workshops, which intend to accompany the students in their aesthetic and artistic education process.
Experienced art educators guide them through the exhibition, which is individually tailored to the age and curriculum of each group. Afterwards, practical design phases and discussion rounds offer the opportunity to deepen what they have seen and contribute their own perspectives.
The formats are flexible and can be adapted to suit the needs of the class and the subjects being taught.
Individual agreements on topics, methods, and areas of focus can be tailored to suit specific needs.
For school classes DAS MINSK opens at 9 AM on weekdays (except Tuesdays)!
Body and Feelings | Identity and Lifestyles | Self-portrait and Selfie
What makes a portrait and how do we tell our story through self-portraits? In this workshop, students will explore and engage with different types of portraits.
The workshop begins with a guided tour of the current exhibition, where participants can learn about different portraits and self-portraits as well as the importance of perspective, expression, and context. How do artists present themselves and what messages are there to discover?
In the subsequent workshop, students can create their own self-portrait: Using pens, crayons, and/or their own smartphones, they can test how different media and filters change the effect of their own image.
The group reflects together on the resulting works at the end of the workshop. How do analog and digital portraits differ? What role does self-perception play in the digital age? The workshop promotes artistic design, critical thinking, and the conscious use of media.
Please note: All materials will be provided. Participants should bring a smartphone for working with digital media.
