ChorWerk Potsdam
As part of this year's winter market, the ChorWerk Potsdam will perform with children, young people, and adults on the DAS MINSK terrace and invite visitors to sing along with Advent and Christmas carols. “Sind die Lichter angezündet” is one of the best-known songs written during the GDR era. The Potsdam poet and children's book author Erika Engel published the lyrics in 1950. The music was written by Hans Sandig, founder and director of the Leipzig Radio Children's Choir. He also recorded the Sandman's popular first theme tune, which remains familiar to many children today. Traditional melodies from the former GDR and the old federal states will be performed, as well as songs from different parts of the world. With its diverse repertoire, the ChorWerk Potsdam will musically enrich the winter market with an atmospheric ambience.
Drop-in, Creative workshop for children
As part of this year's winter market at DAS MINSK, a creative workshop for children aged 3 and over will be held in the foyer of our building. The children can create, paint, and design under the guidance of experienced art educators. Whether Christmas cards, creative tree decorations, sparkling decorations, or small gifts, everyone is invited to take part. You can even decorate the large Christmas tree on the MINSK’s terrace with the results of your creative endeavours if you’d like. This workshop offers the opportunity to participate without prior registration or a fixed duration. All materials are provided and participation is free of charge.
Please note: Participants between 3-6 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
