Who are the East Germans? And what specific scars do they bear? What fades, what remains, and what may never heal? In their work, sociologist Steffen Mau and journalist Jana Hensel have put forward theses that allow a factual and simultaneously emotional approach to the topic. Cultural scientist Judith Rinklebe, co-editor of POSSI magazine will add a younger perspective to the conversation. In order to interrogate what is East German today, a conversation will emerge in the complex, grey area beyond the familiar good-evil schema.
