Rahel Suesskind imagines the MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam in her illustrations. She has designed two postcards for the new exhibition space, which can be further designed during the weekend, taken home and kept or sent as a memory of the opening – for young and old.
10 AM – 7 PM
The cafébar of the house, HEDWIG, has invited some colleagues from Potsdam and the surrounding area to a colorful market. Regional and seasonal food and beverages are offered for sale at the market stalls: home-baked cakes, ice cream and coffee from Urstrom Jerseys, white fish from Lake Stechlin, grilled sausages from Potsdam, home-baked bread, specialties from meadow cattle, wines from Saale Unstrut and local beer from Berlin-Neukölln.
2 – 6 PM
For ten years, Thomas Ruppel played music in the former terrace restaurant "Minsk" and hosted dance evenings together with the then restaurant manager Rolf Wienecke. For the opening weekend of the MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam, he will be back at the mixing desk on both days.
The film »Die Verwandlung des Minsk: Wie aus dem Minsk ›DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam‹ wurde« (The Transformation of das Minsk: How das Minsk became ‘DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam’) documents the rescue and renovation of the former terrace restaurant Minsk in Potsdam, which seemed doomed to demolition, but was transformed into an art venue. Over a period of two years, a film crew accompanied the reconstruction of this historic building. The film screening (in German) is free of charge and will take place at Thalia Kino, Potsdam Babelsberg.
